Saturday 28th May 2022: Bookmark Exhibition
11am to 3pm
King's Church, High Street, Bishop's Waltham
HAVE YOU EVER been to a Bookmark Exhibition?
Come along to see this collection of over 1000 bookmarks, collected over more than 4 decades by Jill Therkelsen. They come from all across the world and are made of a range of materials including lace, steel and even cow dung! The event is free, but donations will go to the Rainbow Trust charity which supports families with seriously ill children and life-limiting conditions.
Homemade cakes, biscuits, teas, coffees and cold drinks will be available. No booking required, just drop in!

Starting at 12 noon: Motorcade of vintage & classic cars and motorbikes in the High Street finishing at Hoe Road 12.30pm.
Family fun day commences with live music over 2 stages, food & drink village, inflatables & children's rides, fancy dress competition, pony rides, over 40 craft stalls plus much more...

International Yarn Bombing Day is Saturday 11th June!
Look around the High Street, during the fortnight, and you will see decorative displays in shop windows, around the Jubilee Clock and in Red Lion Street. Also you will find knitted creations on lamp posts, bollards and other street furniture.

Friday 24th June 2022: BW Festival - The Recruiting Officer

Bishop's Waltham Festival
The Recruiting Officer by Richard Farquhar will be performed by Rain Or Shine Theatre Company on the open-air stage.
One of the most popular plays of its time this is a delightful comedic romp through 18th Century Shrewsbury following crooked Army recruiting officers dashing Captain Plume and devious Sergeant Kite as they persuade men to take the King's shilling by any means, legal or otherwise. Vivacious Sylvia, haughty Melinda, melancholy Worthy and foppish Captain Brazen are their accomplices in deceit, passion, sword fights and surprises.
Baker and White of Swanwick will be on site serving hot and cold beverages and snacks from their converted Citroen van (cash or card payments).

Awful Auntie is a truly thrilling tale. Stella, with the help of her friend Soot, fights off Aunt Alberta and saves beautiful Saxby Hall, the family home. Owls, ghosts, chases, escapes, motorcycle rides, and tiddlywinks all fill Stella’s days as she evades her menacing Aunt.
Bring Aunties, Grannies, rugs, picnics, smiles and umbrellas (to keep the sun off!) to this adaptation of David Walliams's tale performed by Heartbreak Productions, organised by BW Festival.
Marucci's Ices will be on site.

Features Harry Strutter's Hot Rhythm Orchestra, an 8 piece band with 2 lady vocalists. Supporting bands are Tony Carter's quintet Gentlemen of Swing, Swanmore College Jazz Orchestra and State of Jazz from Barton Peverill for a relaxed evening of foot-tapping music as the sun sets in Bishop's Waltham Palace Grounds.
Bring picnics and friends with chairs and rugs.

Following the success of the 2021 Country Fayre, we can't wait to welcome the community again to St Peter's church and churchyard for this hugely popular event on Bishop's Waltham's calendar.
The 2022 fayre promises to be even bigger and better with more stalls, live music throughout the day, dancing and a variety of food outlets, real ale, Prosecco & Pimms PLUS all the usual favourites including the dog show, kids' crafts corner, live ferrets, racing pigs, and our raffle with loads of fantastic prizes!
